What is Neurofeedback?

Neurofeedback and Biofeedback are different and how they are different you can see in the difference between neurofeedback and biofeedback?
Neurofeedback is a type of therapy that uses real-time data usually electrical pulses in the form of EEG so that we can regulate our brain patterns. It is one of the brain training methods.
Have you ever been through anxiety, PTSD, sleep problem, concussion, stroke, or suffering from addiction problems? if yes, then neurofeedback is one of the best brain training methods to improve your condition. Neurofeedback is related to brain waves, what we see, perceive and our thoughts can change our brain waves. These brain waves can be detected through sensors connected to your scalp and it will measures electrical pulses emitted through neurons while communicating with each other.
Any person who is suffering from neurological disorders will have different brain waves and analyzing these waves we can conclude which part of the brain is not working properly and after detecting the problem we can design solutions for that disorder.

Neurofeedback helps to deal with anxiety, depression,PTSD etc

 How do Neurofeedback works?

A person having any neurological condition can undergo neurofeedback therapy. To detect what type of brain wave is more dominant of that person, we will connect sensors to the scalp which will show output in the display and according to the display, patients have to achieve desired brain waves and after achieving desired brain patterns patient will get a reward and will get activated in the brain reward center. After repeating this process several times, the waves due to which the patient was suffering is no longer dominant. This way we can change our behaviors just by monitoring our brain waves
Neurofeedback is dependent on two pillars
  1. Operant conditioning
  2. Brain plasticity
We can change person behavior by giving them rewards, suppose a patient is suffering from anxiety they can try to alter their brain waves through meditation, relaxation and after achieving desirable state we can give a reward like showing them a movie or giving them, their favorite dish, these come under operant conditioning. After the repetition of operant conditioning, neural pathways inside the brain keep on changing according to our exercises and this happens due to brain plasticity.
